To kick off my new online shop I’m offering free shipping on all orders over $75. It’s not too early to think about holiday shopping. Or treat yourself to something special! Online shopping is safe and easy, and when you shop at Quilting with Margaret you are also supporting a small local business.

If you live in the Rochester, NY area, you also have an option for free pick up. If you choose this option at checkout, you will not be charged any shipping cost regardless of the size of the sale. I will notify you when your order is ready and give you the address for pick up. Then when you text me that you are on your way, I will set your order out on my front porch table for touchless pick up. Easy peasy.

Soon I will be adding some holiday items like quilted Christmas tree skirts and stockings, holiday wall hangings, wine gift bags, Thanksgiving runners and placemats. Also, there are holiday-themed face masks and lots of new potholders. Keep checking back weekly for new items in the online shop.

Masks, Masks, Masks…New Arrivals

Exciting news! All of the new prints I promised just came in. Lots of new RBG prints, a Dr. Fauci print, a couple of “Nasty Woman” prints, a “Will you shut up man?” Biden print and an “I Love NY” print are now available. This holiday season, face masks are the perfect gift. Inexpensive and necessary, face masks are a great stuffer. Find the perfect themed face mask for all of your family and friends. What better way to show you care about someone than by giving them a fun mask which will help protect them and others around them. It’s like a virtual hug!

Also new to the shop are replacement elastic ear loops. Over time, the oils in your skin and hair plus repeated washings can cause the elastic to wear out. The ear loops are easy to replace on your favorite mask. Simply snip the old elastic and remove it. Then attach a small safety pin to the new elastic and thread it through the side casing of your mask. You can now adjust the elastic to fit, overlap and sew (or tie in a knot).

Many of you have asked about filters for your masks. Well, I also ordered some PM 2.5 mask filters to slip in the pocket of your mask for added protection. Order a set of six disposable filters in the face mask section of my shop. A filter lasts about a week and makes your mask more comfortable to wear.

Just go to the end of the mask section of the shop to order replacement elastic ear loops and filters for your masks.

The Shop is Finally Live!

Well, I finally got all of the pictures taken and words written and my shop is now live with more than just face masks. Due to the COVID, I have been unable to be open for First Fridays. Now you can safely shop at Quilting with Margaret online, shopping locally and supporting a local business.

I will be adding more items in the next few weeks, but the shop is pretty complete. As I mentioned in my last blog, I just got some new RBG fabrics for facemasks and potholders. You can purchase them now. And I just ordered more RGB prints in addition to a couple of “Nasty Woman” prints, a “Can you just shut up, man?’ print, a Dr. Fauci print and a “I Love NY” print. They should be available for purchase by the end of next week.

Also I will be adding some holiday items. Like more potholders, wine bags, Christmas tree skirts, Christmas wall hangings, and Christmas stockings. We likely won’t be able to celebrate the holidays with parties and traveling this year as in the past. But since we will be spending more time at home with our immediate families, why not make this the year for some new holiday traditions with heirloom decorations. A handmade quilted tree skirt or Christmas stockings can start a new tradition that you can pass on to the next generation.

RBG Facemasks Coming Soon!

The death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a huge blow to many, including me. She has fought to support women’s and LGBTQ+ rights for decades. So I went in search for some RGB fabrics to make into facemasks and potholders. Today I was notified that the fabrics I ordered a week ago have shipped. I will let you know as soon as you can purchase an RBG facemask or potholder! Sign up below to follow my blog so you will know when new items like the RBG merchandise are available.

In addition to the currently listed facemasks in my website shop and the new RBG facemasks which will soon be available, within the next I will have a major update to the shop page. Soon you will be able to order potholders, oven mitts, aprons, table scarves, coaster sets, rectangular appliqued pillows, pillow covers, runners and more right from this website.

I’m trying to get geared up for the holidays. You will soon be able to shop from the comfort of your own home at whatever time you want instead of waiting for a First Friday to shop. Currently we are not able to be open for First Fridays or Second Saturdays at the Hungerford building due to COVID.

But I know many of you like to shop local and buy handmade items, so I have spent the summer working to update my website. In August, you were able to see the “new look” of the website. In the next week, I will be unveiling the newly designed Shop page to include more than just facemasks. And soon (before the end of October) I plan to add lap quilts, a few more handmade goods and some “quilt shop” items (like patterns and kits) to the new Shop page.
